since when is "max 7000/min" a cutoff guideline?

Default the same thing happend to me

I was not racing anybody, but had just left work and got on an on ramp and was not paying enough attention to revs and it tapped the limiter at 7k rpm instead of 8.3k. I hope I did not muck somthing up like blow a seal or somsin.

I always thought you should not shift each gear until around 7.5k rather than shortshift if you want to max out acceleration, but what do I know.

Default Update: Tried revving the car upto 8300 in first after the oil was over 200 and no problems

I guess the 7000 rpm is a cutoff not a suggestion....
