So how many RS4s will actually reach the U.S.?
My initial impression was this was to be a rather limited production car, perhaps 1000 for the U.S.. Are more of these being ordered and produced than what we had expected?

I think that early estimate was 1000 per year.
look at Sparkhill's RS4 registry, I don't recall the latest figures.
obviously the car has been selling much better than some people predicted. the "RS6 doomsday contingent" who predicted the RS4 would never sell at MSRP, and cars would be sitting on the lot priced below invoice, have crawled under a rock somewhere.

Originally, AoA stated a goal of about 1000/year for 2007-2008....
So far, over 1300 have been ordered and delivered in 2007. MY 2008 production will start very soon so I would guess about 2500 total cars delivered to the US. Better than Audi anticipated, but still very limited production numbers.
