Default Time for new Rotors.......Again maybe call ECS ????

well its been about 7 months and 7 track days since the last pair.
2 weeks ago did a timed track day , and by twilight im told rotors were glowing orange lol.

Anyway few days after ,they are shrieking badly every time i come to a stop.Even pedestrians are holding their ears!!!. yET THERE APPEARS TO BE 50% OF PAD LEFT???????

As far as the whole rotor goes the lip at the edge showing depth of wear isnt that must....

they look like a CUT tree stump, many different coloured rings, not grooves in depth just IN sight. so new dics or machine them?, is this the problem?
Audi are quoting $750 to machine then aND REFIT here in Australia, or i could just get new ones @ 1300ish landed from ECS or there abouts. also any suggestions on other pads?

Default For the amount of track time you are putting in....

I would probably call Stasis and go with Alcons.

Default one of the things I've been wondering about the Alcon rotors that Stasis sells....

will they work with the OEM Brembo calipers? With the correct hats, I can't think of a good reason why they wouldn't...but that doesn't mean much. Maybe Jason or Jared will comment...I don't even know if they'd be willing to sell the rotors alone, even if they would fit.

Default Brembo has a R8 kit, do you want them to make one for the RS4?

For $2,195 you would get front only kit consisting of:

Two 380mm true floating rotors with aluminum hats and McLaren hardware
Mounting brackets to reposition your exisiting calipers

Each rotor, hat and hardware weighs 26 lbs., you would need to check how that compares to stockers.

I could have them made with enough interest. So if this is something that you would want - please let me know and I will ask Brembo to make this kit for us.

Default the annulus on our disc is different from OEM RS4. We are entertaining building a replacement unit

because of the wide annulus that comes on that car keeping discs from warping can be difficult. Narrower annulus discs typically run at a more consistent temps across the face of the disc.

Cliff Notes for above:
if you are tracking the car heavily - we have a full Alcon kit that is significantly lighter and more efficient than OEM with a reduced replacement parts cost.

Default I have two sets of the Alcon 370mm kit on two different cars...both RS4's

..and I can tell you, definitively, that there is NO comparison in a track environment, none what so ever. The Alcons are consistent, and NEVER go away, and this is with hard, hard, late braking in Texas Heat. A dedicated rotor/pad setup is highly, highly recommended.
