Default Tire Question: rolling up on new tire time. Has anyone done replacements yet?...

...and did you go OEM, or has anyone done stuff like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s?

I know OEM calls for the standard fitment + 96Y, but anything else required? Is it okay to go for anything that is 255/35ZR19 + 96Y + XL or greater?

Default XL=Extra Load; 96Y=Service Description

Basically, any ZR tire with a Y in the service description will retain the OEM speed rating.

I'm looking at 275 30 19 Bridgestone RE01's.

I know they only last about 6,000 miles, but I track my car.

Talk to some other folks here to see what they're using. The Eagle GS1D3's work well...but with such a heavy car, I think we all need to consider a wider tire.

Default So with the existing double-spoke wheel, you can fit a 275 with no issues?

And you're looking at a 30 profile... for stiffness?

Default Go for Michelin PS2 in 275/30/19.....

Most people who have changed tires seem to have gone with The Bridgestone RE-01R (?), in that size. While it is a near-race tire, it is also substantially heavier than the stock size Michelin PS2 or stock size Pirelli. (30 lbs. vs 25lbs vs. 24lbs). My personal choice will be to get the extra width with the light weight of the PS2's. The PS2 in 275/30/19 weigh in at 25lbs.

dont you lose a lot of sidewall moving to 275/30...what does that do to rolling diameter?
