2004 S4 used questions
My brother-in-law is looking at a 2004 S4 with the 6spd MT. It has 28,000 miles and it's at an Audi dealership.
Is there anything specific he should look for when checking it out?
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: 2004 S4 used questions
couple things....
-warranty...how much left (depends when car came into service)
-ask where car came from...(check on clutch, tires, see if engine has been beaten on)
-see when car was built...I know there were some issues with newer 04 s4's with engine issues.
STFA for info
-Dealership SHOULD stand behind this car if it has issues...Hence Audi certified
-I have had good experience with Cert. cars. I bought mine with 400 miles!
Good Luck hope it works out GREAT RIDE!!

Also...
Be sure to inspect it closely for signs of damage or repair, especially to the front and back end. This could include areas that have been resprayed.
Check to see if it has gone through the recommended TSBs... someone on AW has a link to them in his sig.
Make sure all the removeable bits and pieces are there, including floor mats, trunk netting, spare tire, jack equipment, owner's manual, engine cover pieces, etc...
Also, drive the car around fora few minutes and watch out for any strange sounding noises or computer alerts *before* signing on the dotted line.
I speak from experience.

how much are they asking for it?
I'm selling mine w/ 2k miles on it. It was bought new in November and it already has a certified warranty on it too. The dealer put one on the car as part of the deal when I bought it.
Shoot me an email if you think he might want some more info.

long story...
I don't really want to but I do want to get rid of a car payment and I've been trying to sell the wife's '04 BMW 330i for a while with no luck. I bought her a Touareg before we had our baby because the 330 was too small for the baby and all the stuff (junk) that has to go in the car with a baby!! I thought her car would be easy to sell so I sold my Viper and bought myself the S4. Now it's six months later, I still have the BMW (I drove it yesterday for the first time since November)and I'm just sick of paying for a car I'm not using. I would much rather keep the S4 but it's also the car I think will sell a lot quicker. It's actually on ebay right now and it's already up to a little over $38k and it's only been on for 2 days.
The worst part is that my full Labree exhaust showed up today!! I hope I can sell the BMW before the S so I can throw on the downpipes and exhaust!! If I do sell the S4 instead I'll be offering the full system to everyone here.
