Front brake noise

Front brake noise
I'm booked in for a service appointment later this week and one of the things I've asked them to look at is a noise I'm getting from the front end while braking.
When I apply the brakes under normal stopping (not heavy braking) I occassionaly hear a thud, I can feel the thud through the brake pedal as well. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side.
Its usually when I am stopping in a straight line and sounds like the brake is sticking then releasing.
Anyone got any ideas as I'm sure when they roadtest it, they'll say that they couldnt find anything.......

Sounds stupid but make sure everything is secure...
in that area. I had a thumping that was driving me crazy and it turned out the battery was just slightly loose and was banging into the a/c tubing when braking and turning.

Ask them to check the front and rear subframes
I heard a thud (klunk) under braking in my car after I'd had the brake pads replaced and just assumed it was the brakes. It turned out to be loose bolt on the rear transmission subframe.
A few months later I had another different sounding thump after having my sway bars installed. Turns out it was the front belly pan rubbing against the subframe. The dealer readjusted it and the sound went away.
