Default Had the dreaded "Dead throttle" last night.... twice in the space of an hour. I was pulling out

into traffic quickly @ about 3/4 throttle - car started moving and then completely died (back to idle). I lifted a little and re applied - off I went.

Scary.

Default Is that one of the DBW issues?

When I first got my S4, I remember hitting the gas without being in gear, and getting no response, but I never had a 'dead throttle' when in gear.

The good news is that I had a check engine light problem a few weeks back, and the dealer reset the throttle adaptation and now the car doesn't seem to have any DBW issues. It seems to repond to revving at anytime with no weird response.

Default I remember reading that somebody else had this issue. I'm due for my 5000 ml. service on Thursday -

I'll deal with it then.

Default Yes, it is. It thinks you are "lurching."

They system is trying to "save your engine" from the shock of a sudden transition from no- or reverse- load to full load. In particular, it may be thinking that you just hit a bump, and it caused your foot to twitch.

Default So does re-adapting the throttle fix this and how?

I don't seem to have the problem anymore.
