Default Help, can't decide: B6 or B7?

I am looking at getting either an 2005 B6 S4 or a 2006 B7. I need help in deciding whether the extra $4-$5k on average for a comparable B7 over a B6 is worth it.

Are there reasons why a B7 is worth the extra money, besides having the most currently body style? Thanks guys!

Default Yes if you're planning on getting a 6-speed manual: rear wheel bias

looks is subjective but I personally like the B7 better. I'd also venture to say the B7 has better reliability.

Default i like the looks of a B7 better, the b6 looks too boring

but b6'rs hate the large grill, other than that the difference is minimal and in daily driving you most likely couldnt tell.

Default I bought one of the first B7s because

I liked the more aggressive look, which I like even better the more I look at it. And I really don't like the taillights and glued on spoilers of the B6. So, even though new B6s were easier to get at the time I bought my car, I'm really happy with my decision.

Also, a big factor for me was to get the factory screen based nav system, as opposed to the joke of the system the B6 has (with no map screen but just arrows to tell you which way to turn). Of course, you can buy the B7 nav system and put it in the B6 yourself, but it's pricey and a bit of a pain.

Default looks are subjective, you can get a NAV for the same price as it is sold as an option, and it is NOT

A pain in the *** to install...15 min job
don't scare the poor guy

Default the grill is what sets it off IMO. I like it a lot. B6s are boring now.

But again it's all subjective and in the eyes of the beholder. Arctic White looks great on the B7 body style too!

Default Rear wheel bias?

What is it and which S4 has it or doesn't have it?

Default B7 S4 6MT has normal 40/60 Quattro split, B7 auto and B6 S4 have normal 50/50 split

You notice a tiny bit of improvement in the understeer. But don't base your choice on this because it is hardly noticable in normal daily driving.

Default Agreed on looks being subjective.

Maybe 15 minutes to install if you're good at it, but how long to track down all the parts, instructions, etc, for the average joe? Probably more than that.

Default

also note, the 40/60 split was implemented for the 2006 MY B7 S4, not 2005.5 B7 S4
