Hey (So Cal) Track Guys.... Helmets.....
Anyone know a good place in So Cal (SFV hopefully) that sells helmets ?
My old Karting helmet was a hand-me-down.
It's size tag is gone.
I need to get a new one and I'll want to try them on.
Anyone know a shop in the SFV area ?
What's a good mid priced helmet ?
Bell, Arai, OMP ???

I just bought a Shoei RJ-Air Platinum and am liking it so far
However, my Oakley X-Metals do not seem to fit in it. Guess I will have to upgrade to some c-wires. Bought it off ebay after trying it on at a local shop. Paid $120 shipped. Retailed for over $200.

For midrange, I'd go Bell. I'd say 3-400 would cover it.
Note, I have a Pyrotect full face. It's pretty good, and on the cheaper side.
Damn S4Lynx...I need my helmet back biotch!

How light is that pyrotech ?
I was figuring about $550 or so in price.
Light is good !!!
Even though Shoei are motocycle helmets, I just found a ton of distributors near me. Motox places.....
The Full face shoei's are fine for Karting and Track days, no ?

The most important issue with helmets is not what brand as per say but...
How a helmets fits your head, that's the most important criteria. Don't get stuck on a brand name to find out later when trying them that brand X does not fit you properly. Just my $0.02.

You want a SA00 or wait for a SA05
re: Pyrotect....Its not super light..but its not heavy either..it is about on par with my Bell M2 in weight..but you know..its kinda hard to tell without actually weighing it.
