Hopefully next Monday I will get to compare the B6 S4 ESP vs the B5 S4 version.
I am currently scheduled for a lapping day at Seattle's Pacific Raceways track next Monday and long range forecasts (not highly reliable in the NW) are suggestting a dry day where I could potentially use race rubber.
This track provides a pretty good overall test of the brakes on a couple of turns each lap that far exceed the requirements of the track I have been playing on to date (Portland Int. Raceway). Best of all, the track also includes an extreme traction situation that will expose how the B6 S4's version of ESP programming works compared to what Audi inflicted on us as of the 2001 B5 S4.
I have written far too many posts about Pacific Raceways turn 3A and how Audi's ESP will screw you over unless you are willing to entirely disable ESP in a B5 S4 given the requirement to brake hard well into a sharp turn, so I won't reiterate here.
View from the top - braking zone at the bottom of the hill is usually approached at around 90+mph:

View from Below - the berm at the end of the trees in the middle of the turn is the end of the trees in the shot above:

I am looking forward to seeing how the B6 S4 handles the transitions that this track offers and will let you know how the ESP programming compares.

Prior experience with ProFormance Race School is required.
If you have never been to one of their events, consider Tuesday April 13th as an alternative. 1/2 day ground school with 1/2 day lapping under their guidance. They offer an excellent environment for learning high performance driving.
Once you have that under your belt, they have lots of opportunities for lapping sessions available and it's a pretty easy jaunt for you coming out of Tacoma.

ProFormance Racing School

Wow. Their pricing appears to have gone WAY up...
based on the numbers you threw out when we chatted at PIR in Feb.
$445 for the first day ground school
$175 (+ mandatory $100 instructor rental) for the next afternoon-only lapping session
$175 per afternoon session from there on out.
It does look like they strictly limit enrollment, so you get almost all of your time on-track, but man, that's still a tad out of my league in terms of upfront fees.
If you don't mind me asking, are you paying these prices, or do you have enough history w/ ProFormance that they're giving you a discount?
We know you're a track junkie, so your answer may be biased, but do you feel those prices are worth it?
For now, I'll stick w/ the ACNW events; otherwise I'm afraid I'll be sucked into the vortex of hitting every event with every club every week and be *extremely* poor. :-)

They really don't do discounting. This event is $175 for the day.
You are correct in that you get almost more track time than you can stand - for this all day event there are less than 20 folks. I have done 8 events with Proformance including their SCCA Competition class, so I don't have to pay the extra fees for coaching.
The track itself is the expensive part - when the NW Audi Car Club rents Portland's track for the day, it's $2500-3000 depending on whether you take a weekend day or a weekday and $2500/day for a weekend if you take both days. Pacific Raceways is almost $6000/day for a weekday and never available on weekends. Our NW Audi club won't be doing any events at Pacific Raceways for a while because we lose money every time we have had an event there.
I guess that's the difference between a public park (like Portland's track) and a private one.
I may not do many days on the Pacific Raceways track, but I figure I have to try it out at least once with this car
