and if it's not all about "beating" other cars, then why does it matter what a car magazine says?
I "understand" it but c'mon...you either like the car and want it or not...nobody here had anything to do with it's design/production and isn't on Audi's payroll so WTF do you care?

I personally couldn't care less.....
I think the S4 gives me everything "I" want at the right price point. I'm not buying my care to compete with somebody else on the road. I could honestly care less what anybody on the road thinks. I drive a Daewoo back and forth to work, so you can tell that I don't really give a hoot what other drivers think. I got bigger problems to worry about. If I'm gonna sink money in to something to compete with somebody it's gonna be into my house.

Haha..... actually
Not to argue that my Daewoo is a nice automobile...
I bought it for a purpose, and it's so far it's doing a great job. When I purchased the car I was working for United Airlines, and I was driving ~100 miles to and from work everyday. I was also parking at O'hare quite a bit. So I wanted a car to put miles on, that I wouldn't mind leaving in a airport parking lot for several days at a time. I walked out the door with this brand new car for $9k. I was using a beat up 11yr old Honda with over 200K on the odometer. I was getting tired of fixing it... so I wanted to get something "new" that didn't cost a lot of loot. So I bought this car before they went bankrupt because it was the cheapest thing on the market.
2 yrs later........
I no longer work at United Airlines, but I still travel the same distance to work and home ~100 miles. My wife can sometimes travel well over 100 miles in her job, so whoever is traveling the greatest distance that day will drive the Daewoo, since the cost per mile is cheaper (yes I'm a cheapskate). So far we have 50K miles on it, and haven't had a single problem with it. It suprising rides pretty smooth and is pretty quiet. I regularly drive it for 45min periods at well ~100mph, so the miles are hard.
It's a pretty darn reliable car so far (knock on wood).
My wifes drives the Acura RSX, and mine is the TT. She wants the TT, so where going to sell the 6 month old Acura, and I'm gonna get the new S4. We'll still have our trusty Daewoo ;-))
BTW: If anyone in the Chicagoland area sees a silver Daewoo Hatchback pass them at 105mph, that's me...just give a wave, I'm probably on my way to work at 4:45am.
