Default just found out that tiptronic may be available with the first production run

now i am not sure. . 6-speed or Tip. . the decision was easy when i didn't think the tip would be available.

my 2000 s4 is a tip and i love it, but i was thinking that i was ready for a 6-speed with the 2004

pics of my s4

Default Wow! Tough decision...

...but for me, I think I'll stick with the 6-speed I ordered. The clutch on the B6 A4's are much, much lighter than the one in my B5 A4. Car and Driver also mentioned the easy action of the clutch... so I'm inclined to stay with the 6-speed.

If the clutch were stiff like my Mustang SVO's clutch (or even the 2003 Cobra I sold), I'd opt for the Tiptronic. But all indications make it seem like the car will be very quick AND very civilized/easy to live with. I'm excited!

Default No decision for me-its a 6 spd! For me shifting is part of the driving experience-especially with a

car that is built for performance.

6 speed. No question. IMHO. Tip is not an option for me.

Default Not quite - the autos you refer to are sequential or DSG gearboxes while the Tip is a traditional

automatic trans. with a power robbing torque converter.
