Just got my 25quattro. I love it. Got back in my B5 this morning and
discovered that I really miss something that has been a feature of all my Audi's since my '83: red instrument lighting (OK, the '83 was amber and the '86 was red-orange).
Here's a thought: since the graphics and the needles are all backlighted and white, what about changing all the lights to red led's??
Has anyone done it, or does anyone have an idea how to do it, or does anyone else give a RA?
TIA

Oh please, appartently for you, any change, is "moving on" whether it is an
improvement or not. For me if the change serves no functional improvement, it's not "moving on", its change for the sake of change. And, in this case, I don't particularly like it.

I was just breakin your back, I came from a B5 S4 and LOVED every aspect of it. .
including the red instrument lighting. I just think the new instrument panel is nice and clean, but you are right it serves no functional improvement. . Kind of like the B7 front grill and tail lights.
Good luck trying to make your instrument lighting red again.

Cool -- sorry if I over-reacted. OK, Next time I'm at the dealer I'm gonna
find out how many lights of what wattage illuminate those gauges and we'll go from there.
