the posted times that I have seen for it arent much faster then the fastest times Ive seen posted
for the turbo...I think Autoweek had the turbo at 5.4 or 5.2 and the turboS is supposed to be about 5.2 or maybe 5.0. The car sounds great in theory but you would hope for the money your paying for the 70hp boost that your getting more than a tenth or two 0-60 on the cayanne turbo. Nothing against the car, I love Cayannes, but I would hope that 6 speed would have been an option in an S model, in which case I think they would sell a lot more of those.

Probably not, SUV buyers go for automatic for the most part...
Developing a manual gearbox for the Cayenne probably didnt compensate the cost when Porsche made the decision to offer only automatics. They DO think about things like that, and as you can imagine, they definitely wouldnt pass the opportunity to sell MORE Cayennes. Porsche probably spotted a cost-benefit issue with a manual option for the Cayenne that we dont know about, those guys dont F around, they put tons of money on research and marketing before anything else even hits the drawing board.

Fast....got a good laugh a few days ago
I'm up in Stowe VT and saw a Cayenne Turbo stuck in a somewhat shallow ditch on the side of a condo complex entrance road. I know the Cayenne is very capable offroad but what amazes me is how often I see trucks like this stuck. Everytime its the owners' tire niavete. He looked like he was running a high performance / low profile 19" or 20" and it was clear from his track that he went around the bend and slid straight into the ditch. His buddies were outside the truck trowing snowballs at the windshield. Pretty funny. I so badly wanted to pull him out with our Rangie with snows (and have my wife snap a pic) but there was already a work truck there trying to help.

What part of Stowe? We have been going up there for years
Doesn't surprise me about the Cayenne getting stuck. I bet w/ some good snow tires and decent driving that vehicle would be great in the snow.
