Non-Bose audio sounds pretty good . . .
. . . or am I the only one who thinks so?
Then again, maybe I'm the only one who didn't buy the Bose.
I actually think the non-Bose audio in the B6 S4 sounds better than the Bose upgrade in my '00 B5 S4 did. But I also think the B6 feels faster than my APR Stage I ECU-upgraded B5, so maybe I'm just suffering from the euphoria of the first 21 days of B6 ownership.

Re: Non-Bose audio sounds pretty good . . .
I have the Bose w/ Sirius and it's not impressive at all. The claimed "subwoofers" or 6x9s, whatever they are give somewhat weak bass response. I actually think the Bose in my brother's B5 S4 sounds better.
So those speakers are really paper cone!?!?! Geeze, that's totally disappointing to say the least. I will replace those suckers as soon as I can.
I don't think the Bose in my B6 reproduces highs very well. It's midrange is weak and kind of blended in with the bass. Overall, not a great premium sound system.
My Sirius sounds worse than FM radio sometimes! It's very flat sounding, almost like mono. I thought satellite radio would be to FM as direcTV is to cable TV... a whole lot better. *sigh*, alas I am not too impressed so far.
I also experience my radio cutting out and "linking" even when the sky above me is open and there are no buildings immediately next to me. Somewhat frustrating at points... it might even be worse than hearing "static" on normal analog radios.
My old car had MB Quarts all around with 50 watts going into each of my 6.5" components up front (poly cone, aluminum tweeter) and 50 watts going to each of my rear 6.5" 2-ways (which were paper cone, mind you). I had a JL Audio W6 12" sub in a sealed box in the back with 150 watts going into it. That system sounded fabulous. The tweets really tweeted and the midrange was excellent. No doubt bass is better with a "real" subwoofer.
In conclusion, I might just replace my Bose speakers sometime down the line. I don't want to put any new holes in my B6, so I'm aiming to find speakers that fit in the stock locations.
BTW, is there an EQ adjustment for the B6 Bose like there is for the B5 Bose? I tried the power + memory button 4 and the other combo, but it didn't work. Any info would be great, thanks!

B6 Bose much better than B5 Bose, but IMHO B5 non-Bose better than B5 Bose...
I found the Bose way too boomy on the B5, turning the car into a "thump car." The non-Bose on the B5 sounded much better and more natural, IMHO.
The non-Bose on the B6 sounds very good as well, but the B6 Bose doesn't sound all that bad. Since I wanted XM, I decided to get the Bose this time around...
