Default Purchase in Germany

Can an U.S. market S4 Avant be purchased from a dealer in Germany & shipped back? What kind of hassles would there be & would you save much $ off U.S.MSRP?

Default In short.....no....

You would have to buy a Euro Spec car....convert it and stuff. Plust the S4 is more expensive in Europe. Until audi offers a Germany pickup program this is way to expensive and you will end up paying a premium over MSRP.

Default Re: Purchase in Germany

Listen, i am from Spain and have an s4. The s4 costs in Spain 60,000.00 Euros which is equivalent to 71,000 US dollars. In Germany, the car costs 56,000 Euros, so you would be paying a lot more than what it costs in the U.S.(50,000)
I wish i could live in the U.S. you guys don t pay too much taxes compared to Europeans

Default you are wrong

My sister lives in Germany, she's in the Army, and she bought a US Spec'd A4 there (it has NA headlights, the square rear liscence plate area, km&mph guages, the wheel well hump, and some other DOT crash standard equiptment).

It was a couple of grand less and she didn't need to pay tax on it, also the Army will ship it home for her at no cost when she moves back to the States. In fact there were many other officer's in her battalion who also drove A4s and 3ers who bought US Spec'd because they wanted to be able to bring them back to the States after their stationing in Germany.

I am not sure if Audi has a European delivery program set up like BMW and Porsche do? Ask your dealer I would bet that they do. You would probably order the S4 through your US dealer and pick it up there, drive it around a bit and have it shipped home.

It would be great you could pick your car up at Audi Forum Ingolstadt, here is the delivery bay one day back in June.

Default You are wrong.

There are special exceptions for US military personnel, but Audi DOES NOT have a Euro delivery program at this point. So unless 67gt350 is US military, your post does him/her no good.

The Swedes have it the worst, iirc. Something like 50% tax on luxury cars, I think.

Default Audi doesnt have Euro Delivery.....

I would really like to know how they did that? I have contacted people I know at VW and Audi and all said that the option to buy a US spec Audi/VW in germany isnt avaialble. Maybe this is something offered to the military?

Default It's a military exclusive agreement. In fact I think there's a guy on this board who has done this.

It's either this board on someone with an M3 over on Roadfly. I can't remember. But you'll notice how the Army takes care of the shipping for you, too. Wouldn't that be nice?

Euro delivery would be awesome. A lap of the 'Ring would be the perfect break-in, even if you DID have to do the whole lap below 4k RPM. Heheh.

Default it must just be allowed through military sales then, that sucks

all of the local MB, BMW and Audi dealers around her (Kitzingen/Wurtzburg in Bavaria) have salepeople who complete military sales. Her salesman was this whacky Irish guy who lives in Bavaria selling Audi's to American's, not a bad gig!

I am about to head into the military myself, as a medical services officer, and I have requested Germany as my first duty station. It will be nice to live in a place where I can actually drive my car!
