S4 Cab or 997 S Cab?

S4 Cab or 997 S Cab?
I have had a B5 2001 S4 sedan for 5 years and about 53,000 miles. It has been the best car I have ever owned, bar none. I have minimal mods (UUC shortshifter, GIAC chip) which are perfect. The issue: now over 40, I want a convertible. I drove an arctic silver metallic S4 cab, and liked it, with one exception--compared to my B5 S4, the steering feels light. Direct, and the car goes where I want it to, but something that will take a bit to get used to. So here I am about to buy it, when someone decides that they do not want a midnight blue 997 S Cab that just came in. I drove it as well. Interestingly, both have a lot of power, but the 997 (as I expected) feels very planted. It is also about $40,000 more. Money is not the issue, but winter driving (I live in a hilly city) is. One last issue: I would love to keep the B5 S4 if I got the 911, but my wife draws the line at that one. Thanks for anyone's thoughts on this.

Sorry I can't help, but Hell I'd like to be in your position...
The cars are worlds apart. I think if you like the practicality of the B5 S4 them a B6 S4 is a shoe in. The 911 is a better performance car, but in no way can it matched the S4 for versatility and roominess for four, perhaps five people.

2nd.
I got the S4 cab because it was going to be my only car, which means I might need it for ski trips to Tahoe, but if all weather capability was less of a concern, I'd probably do the Porsche.
