Default So no test drive of the RS4 yesterday.....

Probably for the best.... but the rep apparently had no idea what he was talking about. The car was being delivered yesterday. I got there about 10 minutes before the new owner. I spoke to him for a short while. He is using the RS4 as his "everyday driver"...... must be nice. Anyway, the car was Avus silver and it looked amazing. The exhaust has a nice low rumble, but very subdued. This was the dealership's first RS4 delivery and they only expect 2 more RS4s before the end of the year. I will wait for the 08s and hopefully a better deal.

Default Yeah I tried driving one at carlsen in palo alto

All the tech advisors said they had driven it and had big smiles on their faces. So I asked a sales guy and got the typical "We want to keep low miles on that car, they don't even let us drive it" answer. I told them all the tech advisors had driven it and they claimed it was just the guy that did the PDI.

LAME.

But I'm with you dude.. if I would have driven it I would have definitely lost sleep.

Default I drove one an hour ago, sweet.

I'm not going to take the plunge however. I'm very happy with my 04 S4 and the $40K difference can be put to good use else where. I don't need a $73,500 car to drive back and forth to work in. I don't like the touch screen for the radio, etc it's to distracting at least for me.

Default why wouldn't you use an RS4 as a daily driver?? I can think of far more exotic or expensive cars...

that would also make excellent daily drivers. If you want something to keep in the garage and drive on Sundays, buy a Ferrari, Lotus, etc... Even a Porsche or a Maserati would make perfect daily drivers, as long as it's not snowing! I try to keep the miles down on my cars and I try to keep them in perfect condition but I am also very impressed by the people that buy a "drivers" car and actually drive the **** out of the thing. As long as the car is maintained properly I think it's great.

Default some cars I can understand... I had a Lotus Esprit that I never drove

not because I didn't want to but because you just couldn't take it places. It attracted way too much attention and I just didn't trust other people if I ever had to leave it someplace. I went out to eat with it once and parked it all by itself, away from everyone else. When I came out there were hand prints on the windows so obviously people were touching it, even if it was to just look inside, and I can't stand that. Plus, the car really wasn't too comfortable to be in for a long period of time!

Now, an RS4, M5, any Porsche (except the Carrera GT), SL55, Maserati, etc... should be taken care of but should also be driven every chance you get.

Default Not fully explained..... my fault

I would use the RS4 as a daily driver as well. This guy pulled up in a brand new 911 Turbo that he does not want to drive "too much"..... and all I could think was "why the $%*& not?!"

Default gotcha, makes more sense now.

now, a new 911 Turbo & an RS4 would make a nice little stable. I think I'd drive them both equally, thus keeping the miles relatively low on both!
