Default somewhat shootout related....

i was just going over the first shootout's results and it looks like GIAC got cheated a bit...

All of the dyno graphs and charts that include all of the diff programs seem to use the worst run that the GIAC chip made, for example,

this graph which compares the whp of all the cars, shows a big dip midrange for the GIAC car....why then, when looking at the GIAC whp graph alone , does that particular run appear to be the outlier? If i am reading the GIAc specific whp graph correctly, it looks like it contains three runs (indicated by the diff colors). The blue and yellow ones are very consistant and the pink one seems to have had some problem (heatsoak? throttle/ecu brain fart? who knows...) yet it is THAT one, the pink one, that is used in all of the other graphs and as a representation of the chip...por que?

the same goes for the torque graph...

two solid runs, with the same pink one showing a problem

yet all the torque graphs use the crappy run with the big dip in the beginning....

Am i totally nutz here?

disclaimer: it is late, i am tired, and i may be reading this all wrong. SO, please do not feel offended in any way since i certainly DO appreciate all the effort that i am sure went into this shootout.

Default one thing....

every day is different, every dyno is different. Comparing one day to another can be an inaccurate way of measuring power. Your car could make 300hp today, 270 tomorrow on this dyno and then 310 in a month on that dyno over there. That is the nature of the beast. You cant compare the numbers of two different dynos to each other.
