And there goes the clutch....
I just took my friend for a ride and i decided to show him what the car could do (m3 owner) I revd the car to about 3400 rpms popped the clutch, and there she went. the car shot up to 7000rpms without moving. Iquikly let go the gas and punched it again... stood still. I let it cool off the car drives but clutch is slipping when gassed hard.....Uggg!

Hmm...something's not right. I've got 13,5K, and I've definitely done my fair amount of...
clutch dropping and the occasional 1st gear overpowered start.
But it still grabs pretty hard. Don't know if it's just me, but it seems that the engagement or friction point has been reduced. (1/4"?) It still grabs great, but grabs very low and has little to no room for error.

Had a similar, yet, different problem...
After going to the drag strip and not launching the car hard enough to obtain the expected results, I came home and started practicing coming out of the hole hard. I revved it up to about 3500-4000 and quickly released the clutch. I didn't just drop it but I came off of it quickly. The car made all the right sounds but didn't move as violently as I expected and, lo and behold, although I came off the clutch, it was still mostly depressed! WTF!!! That funky clutch smell followed me till I got home. And the clutch was engaging closer to the floor after that. The next morning it was better, after cooling off, but the clutch is not what it used to be. Like Machtig, it engages about a 1/4" closer to the floor now and isn't as quick to pop back up when I release it. I've only got 2200 mi. on the car and have done very little racing - one night at the drag strip (only 3 runs) and one highway race.
Has anyone heard of a high performance, racing/street clutch for this car??? IMHO the stocker is pretty weak. I say this because I used to race Mustangs, and the stock, piece of junk clutch in that car could take a lot more abuse than my clutch appears to be able to. I also have to consider the considerable heft I'm trying to catapult from a stand still in this car, but still, it seems very weak to me.
Sorry about your issue Pete

Yea, Spec Stage 2. But they haven't released one yet for the B6.
It should be able to handle 400+ foot-pounds.
It does seem to get better once you put some miles on it, but it still grabs low.
However, it definitely is grabby. I have rev and release and it grabs and goes. Weird.

A piece of the clutch's friction lining broke off?
And jammed between the clutch and the flywheel preventing it engaging? If it was small it may fix itself, otherwise sounds like you need a new clutch.
