2010 S$ fails to engage reverse
Twice now I have had my 2010 S4 3ltr refused to select reverse or any othergear requiring the engine be switched off, selector placed in Park and then restart the engine. Works ok after that. No snatching or jerking. Is this common?

Otherwise, some 2010/11 DSG models were/are prone to mechantronic board failure in transmission. Could be you are on your way to that problem.
