You will also need avang.com to change the rear brakes.I believe the electronic Parking brake needs to be reconfigured

Car only has 30,000km or so on it, but am starting to look at options. What success have people been having for anyone who has replaced the stock brake pads with respect to finding a set that still offer comparable performance but with significantly less dust!?

Thx!
You can buy Performance Friction Z-rated pads if you want to reduce dust; improve on OEM pads and are not likely to track the car. The pads are ordinarily supplied to Mercs SL55/65 tec. They are descent and dust build up is minimal.

If you do want to maintain wheel looks then the following products are the solution...used in steps laid out;
1) Wheel cleaner...Bilberry (what else...!).
Best to use undiluted initially to remove all brake dusts then dilute a spare 500ml bottle with a 1-part of Bilberry and 4-parts of water. That does me well for regular wheel wash done once a month. A very effective product which is not acid base though do use gloves with all chemicals as a precaution.

2) CarPro IronX (what else...!).
This is an excellent cleaner used for the car body and wheels. It is best used after Bilberry has been used on the wheels. It basically gets rid of metal containments that may not be visible to the eyes and leaves the surface feeling super smooth ready for FK1000p application. I use this once every 12-mths...yeah, it is that effect.

3) Finish Kare 1000p (aka FK1000p)
After all the cleaning you MUST protect the bare paint and for the body and especially wheels FK1000p is a no brainer. An application will comfortably see you through 6-mths...I have tested it on my car used mainly for track. Dust comes off easily once the wheels have been treated. Apply 2-coats 24-hrs apart for best results. I am extra so re-apply every 3-mths. The product comes in a tab which will easily see 5-yrs of use when used only for wheels. It is also excellent for use on the car body...I reckon the tub will still last 3-yurs if use for wheels + body.

The above will give you a very cleaner set of wheels that is easy to maintain if you opt to keep OEM pads or buy a dust free pad.

I installed Hawk Ceramics on the front a week ago. Very little dust, no noise, and a more progressive pedal that is easier to modulate. I'm completely satisfied.
