Default 5K Service

I am going in for 5000 mile service next week. Aside from the free oil change and a tire rotation, what else should I ask for? Does Audi routinely look for any Ecu, MMI, or Nav upgrades that might apply?

Also, my tires are developing a feather edge. Is that an alignment issue that they need to look at, or just an unavoidable result of taking corners the way this car was intended to do?

they will likely check to see if any RVUs are pending for your car.

It is my understanding that there are NO updates to the MMI, or NAV system, which is a shame!!

Default Feathering of tires

My tires feathered very badly, dealer as well as CONTI told me to pound sand. I got an alignment done just to be safe.

Guys I can tell you that HD is the equivalent of the Emporer has no clothes. As an engineer that has installed 12 HD transmitters and supporting hardware they will never do what the marketing bs'ers claim.

This is a failed technology from the git go. It is not being used the way it was intended and therefore will never do what it claims.

As a RF (radio frequency) engineer of some 20 years the majority of us have told the business suits to stop telling people the wrong information and have proposed a million ways to fix it, which has fallen on deaf ears.

If you want the nitty gritty details I am happy to oblige, but its a long story.

Took mine in for the 5k service and they reset some of my mods to the VCDS. Not all of them though. Think the wink and seat belt chime (understandably from a safety standpoint) but the gear display, default ADS and hidden menu were left untouched.

If you have a Vag-Com you might want to get it ready.
