Bad Brake Squeal

I have about 1200 miles on my new B8 S4 and from day one I've had a sporadic, low speed brake squeal that is really obnoxious and loud. I can't find any correlation with temperature, timing or anything but I'd say it occurs about 25% of the time when I'm just coming to a stop or braking at very low speeds. Anyone have thoughts? Thanks!

It happens when the temp drops below about 40 degrees. My car is fine most of the year, but then squeals obnoxiously at low speed stops when it gets cold out. I'd change pads too if there was a concurrence of a good brand to go with that stops the squeal (and reduces brake dust).

I had the same issue on my '12 B8 S4. you've got to "bed the brakes". Check this link out:

There are 2 fixes for the problem. Change the front pads. While you are at it you might consider ceramic pads to get rid of the brake dust or go for a track oriented pad. OR, take it back in to the dealer, thy can bevel the edges of the pads and put some anti squeal compound on the back of the pads. I did the latter. Not completely without any squeal, but a 95% improvement

Bedding the brakes doesn't fix this problem. Did that back in 2010 when I first heard the squeal. It has to do more with the break pad composition and the break dust. My squeal is gone above 50 degrees but horrible below it. You need to drive the car for about 10-15 minutes to warm up the brake pads before it resolves. It really bugs me that Audi has done nothing to address this issue.
