ok everyone, ive read a lot done hours of research today, and im at a loss, and the more i read the more nervous i get.

2012 S4 Automatic with 130k miles

today i started my car and it gave me a little hesitation, but it started. It sounded a bit like the battery was low, I drive for work meeting with clients all over the city, at every stop from 7 am till about 11 am (about 11 stops) each time the car sounded like it had a hard time starting.

i got out on a long stretch of road and did a little spirited driving just getting up to speed limit then backing off, just a little fun. i stopped for gas and when i turned it back on the epc light came on, i drove about 6 miles and stopped at a clients house then started again and the epc light was off and the car drove normally.

then i got to my last clients house, was there for 10 mins, and when i went to start the car, i just got clicks, we tried a car starter, and jumping the car, with no success.

The mmi says that the battery was at 0 percent charged.
when we hooked it up to the truck trying to jump me the mmi said 100 percent Still did not start Just rapid clicking from the engine bay.


Help! i have no idea what to do,
dont know if the epc is related to the not starting. its never done that before.

Edit, The parking system malfunction light came on as well. probably power related.

Might be an issue with the battery. How old is it? These cars do some weird things when the battery needs replacing.

OK I bought new battery from autozone.
Duralast platinum agm
950cca 1000ca

Car started immediately though it had 20percent charge according to the mmi.
Ran for 1 hour fully charged.

And...
My god was that difficult to change!!!
How the hell are you supposed the get the back 2 bolts out of the spare tire mount???

Anyway I forced the old battery out and put the new one in. It was a inch or two shorter than the old one.

all is well.
