Default Gasoline smell

I hope someone can help me here,

My car seems to have a strong gasoline smell and it is usually strong enough to trigger my carbon monoxide sensor, after my car has left the garage

What could possibly cause this? my car is only 7 months old and only has 10,000km

thanks

There was someone a while back either here or on Audizine who had fuel rails or something like that leaking on his car. I would get it checked asap.

+1... never mess around with that kinda thing... take it right in, or risk burning your house down or worse.

I second that - make sure you park outside until you can take it in. The only time you smell gas around a car since the 70's is when there is something wrong.

Get it checked out as soon as you can. BTW, the CO detector is going off b/c the cats are cold. I've used a CO detector to compare cold start levels vs a fully warmed engine. The CO detector probably trips at about 50 ppm, and your car is spitting it out at 400-500 ppm.

I haven't had this problem with my S4 but our E63 had a bad fuel smelling problem a couple months ago. Is is worst right after you fill up with gas?

Take it to the dealership or wherever you get it service and have them test the fuel lines. Not just the lines that run to the engine but the line that runs back to the tank with excess. Mercedes had the car 4 times before they realized it was a line they hadn't checked yet.
