We were discussing this issue at a luncheon meeting. A friend, who has had a couple of A4s, metioned he had the problem on both of his cars.

?? don't understand this logic... when it is hot, you're probably going to use your A/C... and all it takes is ONCE, and you might notice the smell.

As suggested earlier, switch to vent a mile or two prior to destination will greatly reduce the issue. Hit it with Lysol, if need be- no big deal.

I bought the car, with A/C, for a reason......

Well I am in the NW, so it's not needed a lot here, so from my standpoint - especially in winter - there is zero use for it. I always have it on fresh air, not recirculate, so I never have issues with fogging up inside and never use it. Come summer I certainly will, but unless Audi has put bacteria into the condensation trap I daresay one use will not cause this to occur.

In fact just with this poll we have 3 out of 17 saying it's happened, which is hardly often IMO.
