Part cost and part design. BBS wheels can be four times the cost of wheels like those RS4 replicas. The other part is BBS designs. Many of their wheels are complicated two-part mesh designs, which in my opinion don't look very good on newer cars. BBS wheels with clean designs like the CH do tend to appear on a lot of cars (maybe too many, in my opinion).

I've either stuck to different variations of OEM wheels, or BBS wheels as aftermarket wheels over the years, so I must be biased too. I have forged BBS RG-R wheels on my 3 Series now. Someone posted pics of their S4 with BBS RG-R wheels, and I like the way they look on the B8. They are on the pricey end of the scale though.
