Thanks for all the feedback guys. What I'm getting out of all this is that it's 50/50 as to whether trunk will close or not when the key is left inside of it. Seems odd. It should definitely be one or the other, not both. I haven't gotten around to experimenting it since I posted this thread but may just to satisfy my curiosity, if anything. On another previous vehicle I could never close the trunk if the key was inside as it would pop back up as well as provide an audible beep which is nice. Not sure why the Audi doesn't behave similarly, or at least on a consistent basis.
