S-Tronic Transmission Malfunction WTF? My story (long)
I haven't had any problems since then. Knock, Knock, Knock...
over the weekend I was talking to Jason Harbinson from JHM and he was saying when Audi replaced an engine on a b6/7 S4 for example, they used the most up to date everything, including ECU etc. So yeah, looks like he may indeed get an updated transmission. I just figured they'd keep him with the 2010 stuff.
Guess we'll see.

The Q5 has cool 18" wheels, an upgraded interior, the full MMI I'm used to, NAV+, cell phone Bluetooth, the Bang & Olufsen/Sattelite sound system, push/pull button parking brake, and the back-up camera.
I'm still missing about a 100 hp, the rear differential, my 19" Trispokes, keyless entry, and push button start, but this *is* an improvement! Yeah!

As I think I posted last week, Audi @ Ingolstadt sent a message to my north Austin Audi dealership indicating they would be sending a new S-Tronic tranny to them at the end of the week - which would be today; over a month after I brought my S4 in with a malfunctioning tranny.
The dealership did indeed get something from Ingolstadt today. But, it wasn't a new tranny. It was an e-mail that *no one* @ the dealership could understand. It mentioned something about a part being obsolete, but that's all they could understand. There was no date when the tranny would be shipped. No explanation about the hold up. Nada.
I then called Audi of America to complain (again). The person on my case there, Katherine, was not available. So I talked to Michael. He agreed with me that my situation was ridiculous, said he would meet up with her next week, get in touch with my dealership, get a copy of the undecipherable e-mail, and pass on my request that I be reimbursed an additional car payment as it's doubtful I'll get my car back for - at least - another couple weeks! He agreed that it's awful that a 20 year owner of Audis would be treated so and promised to get back to me by Tuesday. I dunno, we'll see....
This is starting to really **** me off. While I can't really fault my dealership or Audi of America, Ingolstadt is really dropping the ball here. This sucks. The worst part is, I'm not sure there is anything I can do about it!

"undecipherable e-mail" does not sound good. when you figure out what the email says, pass the info along. you must be getting pretty hacked by now. best of luck.
