Default Skid Plate?

Sorry for the cross post if you're on Audizine....

So I had a scary moment with some debris on the highway today. Luckily it only left a ding in my center resonator and doesn't seemed to have damaged anything else.

Did a little digging and found this: http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_A4-...6_3.2L/ES9763/

Anyone know if it will fit or does anyone have one on their car? Also will it mess up airflow?

looks great for off-roading.probably would help airflow from smoothing out the bottom.

You're not going to turn an S4 into an off-road machine with a skid plate but you might protect the underside from various debris and obstacles, like sharpy sloped ramps, etc. I'd buy one if it fits. They say it actually improves the airflow, I don't know about that.

Does the OEM underpanel secured by a bunch of plastic clips/rivets? If so, this might be worthwhile since this steel one uses metal bolts. I've always broken the stupid plastic clips on other cars whenever i had to remove the underpanel....

I know the S4 isn't a real off-road rigg -just messin around.I wouldn't buy it for the fact that it looks heavy and not really needed unless your gonna rock crawl with the lifted 33" tire trucks.

I was thinking this would be nice for the times I have to drive through snow here in NH.
I checked quickly and it looks like the 3.2L V6 and the 3.0T V6 use the same underbody sound baffle that this is replacing. The codes only differentiate between 6 cylinder & 4 cylinder and gas & diesel.
Audi also has options for additional underbody protection (1SB & 1SJ versus 1SA & 1SH) in Europe. Could this be the additional protection part from Audi? Does anyone know if the additional protection underbody panel is metal versus plastic?

Yeah clearly no one on this post has a lowered car. I can tell you from experience that if your car is lowered you will need to use the Panzer or Evolution imports skid plate.
http://www.evolutionimport.com/Photo...%2D00003%2D006
. I own a B5 S4 and my thin oil pan sits 4 inches off the ground with my H&R Sport springs. The B5-B8 have the same issue. If your car is lowered this is a must have. Since the engine sits so low in the car and in front of the front wheels the car tends to nose dive hard in breaking makingthings like raised manhole covers, speed bumps and even pots holes a nightmare situation.
I have cracked my oil pan 4 times so far. Easy fix as i have learned to do in about 30 mins but its not how i like spending my saturday, lol. The plastic one will not due.
Definitely all about the thick aluminium sheet.

Cheers,

Fellow Audi Owner
