They don't, probably in the situation of an accident or something but honestly don't know the official reason.

I'm heading there in 2 weeks. What did the guards do? Did they take it away? If so, do they give it back? I was planning to just use my digital camera video mode to shoot some video.

They look into your vehicle as you enter the track, but after you go through the entrance you can pull over and attach it or whatever quickly.

Mine they told me to remove it and reminded me no video was allowed. I guess the worst that could happen is they turn you around and ban you from the track, but they won't take your property.
