I just got my car back from getting a clear bra. Was told they skipped the mirrors because they aren't painted. They sure look painted. Anyone know for sure?

I know this isn't answering your question because I don't know the answer but on a different note.

How long did it take them to do the Clear Bra? And How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking.

I was also told by my dealer that they typically avoided applying 3M to the S4 mirrors since it was a "brushed finish" and so adding the 3M would give it an inappropriate gloss look...not that it couldn't be done. I told them to do it anyways and that I could always remove it later if I didn't like it. I will find out in a few days when I receive it whether I like it or not.

That is exactly what my clear bra installer told me too.

I had 3M clear bra put on the front bumper, 24" kit on the hood, 24" kit on the front fenders and the two painted side blades under the doors. I had that last thing done because I know that people tend to occasionally drag a shoe against them. I paid $500 for the total install. (I have used this installer for three other cars in the past.)

Another question should you wait for the paint to settle before you add the 3M? I was told to bring it in right when I pick up my Quartz but I was thinking that the areas with out the clearbra will fade differently...

The paint has had plenty of time to cure. Don't worry about it. I currently own 2 vehicles (both almost identical in color to Quartz Grey) that had 3M applied 6 years ago the first day off the truck. No visible difference in appearance. I am having done to my brand new Quartz Grey S4 this weekend.

They are painted and they do have a clear coat on them (glossy). I had ventureshield put on mine and they don't look any different. Maybe they skipped the mirrors because they are cheap, they are obviously painted!

I think you got that right. And I hate the door edge protectors. Makes it hard to wax.
