Winter tire suggestions
In week two of my 2015 S4. Probably will need winter tires. Right now I have 255/35/19 summers. Should I go with the same size winters? Or should I go down a size, 245/40/18? 18s are less expensive, but I have would have to buy a set of wheels. Also, any downside to swapping out the summers for the winters on the existing wheels?

I would go to 18's if buying rims, you can run 245's on the 18's or go to 225's on the stock width 18's for even more bite.
The big downside to sticking with your 19's besides them being a bit wider and the cost is that you have to take the tires on and off twice a year which pays for rims pretty quick and usually ends up scraping your stock wheels, not to mention the hassle!

In a similar boat, just got mine and came with Summers and looking at getting snow tires. I'm sticking with 19s, car just looks better with them and I didn't pay this much for a car to have it look bad just cause it's snowing out. LOL
I plan to get some good, but not expensive wheels (maybe some replicas?) and slap winters on them, then when summer rolls around have saved up (and sold the originals) and buy a nicer set and have the summers put on and keep two seperate sets that I can swap out in my garage.
I would not recomend switching tires around on the same wheels each season either, ups the chance of wheel damage and is annoying and costly at $15-25 per tire twice a year. Throwing the tires in the car and hauling them out to the shop, then waiting around for the swap, haul the other tires back home.......no thanks.

A lot of people like the Alzor wheels ECS sells - look like the stock Audi Titanium package rotor wheels and are cheap
18's Search SiteSearch Alzor 628 - 628-1 - 18" Style 628 Wheels - Set Of Four - ES#2143327
19's Search Alzor - 628-9KT - 19" Style 628 Wheels - Set Of Four - ES#2724024
Tire Racks has reps that look the same also, that is what I did, just ordered a set mounted and balanced from tire rack and slapped them on for the winter!

I agree. I bought a second set of OEM 19" Audi wheels refurbished for $300 each. Don't buy replicas, they look great but will not balance and you'll be very unhappy. I think the Nokian winter tires are the best, after using many others, these will get you there. They were not available in the original size, so I went to the 245/40R19, which is totally fine per the dealer. The tire is slightly narrower which is good for winter and it's slightly taller which gives me a tad more ground clearance, which fine for winter.
