Camera Settings

From the technologist at the dealer
Hi Aaron, I've been able to duplicate the issue many times by now but there doesn't seem to be a fix for it yet. It seems to be a glitch with a lot of our top view camera systems. I'll keep you posted if I get any updates.

Just a plain ol' software bug, then. That's what I suspected. It will get fixed with an update, sooner or later, but I'd bet is not a big enough issue to create a special update it TSB for.

Like Audi ever update a head unit once it ships... Yes, the 2019 model may or may not get it fixed, but that won't help us any. If you want software updates, get a Tesla (or Ford of all things).

I got the same answer from my dealer - they can't fix it. I called Audi America for guidance and they said they need to collate information from the dealers to help identify the cause of the bug and come up with a solution...Wonderful

I got this today when following up with the dealer.
So has anyone had any luck finding the default setting for the camera view?
Hi Aaron, there is no fix that I am aware of and I do not expect one any time soon. There is no way to change the default camera view. I am sure there are ways to change these types of settings in the car via the OBD-II port that they use to run diagnostics on vehicles. However, because these are not factory settings we are not allowed to change them.
That does not mean they cannot be changed but we are not allowed to change them for you because it would be overriding the settings set for the vehicle from the factory. There are simple ways you can go into the system and change these settings yourself. However, do this at your own risk. Although changing these settings should not void your factory warranty, I am not making any promises nor should I be responsible if it does.
With that said, as an Audi enthusiast, I’ve come across different ways to access the hidden features within your vehicles code. Recently I stumbled across this product called OBD Eleven. It is by far the simplest way I’ve seen to change settings in your vehicle that are not accessible through the MMI. I will provide you both a link to the product as well as a video explaining how it works. It will then be your choice to move forward with changing these settings or waiting until Audi comes up with a fix which I do not have a time frame for. If/when Audi does come up with a fix they will be reaching out to clients directly.
