the auto on/off feature seems to work sometimes (even when my foot is fully on the brake). In individual mode, yesterday, i had it turn on and then at the next light it did nothing.

anyone else experience this??

There are conditions where the start/stop system wont activate.. If your transmission is in S mode, it wont turn off the car.. Also it wont turn off if the steering wheel is sharply turned (by the same token, you can also re-start the car by turning the wheel when its off). The demands of the climate control system factor heavily into when it turns off as well.. There are other conditions as well, as shown in the manual

Using traffic jam assist also disables the auto stop feature.

Here is a TSB that explains in more detail some (I believe not all) of the parameters. For example it doesn't call out that the feature won't work with the trans in S mode.
