Hard Wired Radar Detector?

I have a V1 and would like to hard wire it to the fuse box but my S4 has a different layout than previous models. I ordered the SAVVY from Valentine to plug into the OBD port. Is this the best solution?

U can tap into homelink fuse under the dead pedal.
