If you adjust brightness of instrument panel, it adjusts HUD too. It can't be adjusted independently though. It's the **** that you push in and can then turn under the silver **** to assist HUD position.

Unfortunately cleaning didn't make a difference. Going to take it to the dealership and see what they say.
I guess it could be a flaw in either the glass covering the projector or in the windshield -- the projection area is highly polished glass, highly polished only in that area, and it may not have been done consistently.

That said, I can also move my head up and down and see a change in focus. I just set to where I lower my eyes in my driving position and it stays in focus and then it hasn't occurred to me since.

FYI everyone - talked to my sales rep and he says the HUD projector screen on the dash is not glass, but is rather made of a plastic/acrylic similar to what normally covers a gauge cluster.

Everyone who has ever tried to clean or dust a gauge cluster in their lives has probably also scratched one in the process, and knows that extreme care must be taken. Those types of plastics will swirl/scratch just by looking at them with a cloth in your hand; hitting one with a microfiber is probably not the best idea. Some people say Swiffer dusters are one of the safer options, canned air and a vacuum to remove debris too (just don't hold it sideways or shake the can first, or you'll hit it with freon and ruin it completely).

Thanks and that's good to know but I have never, ever had an issue with acrylic or anything else using the right microfiber cloth. It's uses are endless.
