Default Sensors acting up

Only during a light snow the proximity sensors on my S4 tend to activate for no reason. Is anybody else experiencing similar behaviour?

If snow sticks to the sensors and blocks them then yes it is expected they will act up. During wet sticky snow my parking sensors go off all the time at low speeds, and I'll get pre-sense deactivated / lane keep unavailable / ACC unavailable messages on the dash until I pull over and wipe the radar domes, sensors, and cameras off.

Sorry. I don’t buy it. These are ultrasonic sensors. They basically emit high freq sounds and collect the waves back then the computer calculates the distance. Things like snow sticking to a sensor would not affect it.

I mean if enough snow gets stuck to it, yes it can affect it.

Ultrasonic parking sensors are some of the worst for this, and may beep at you because it’s getting false positives from a bit of ice or snow that it thinks is a hydrant you’re about to bash into. So, safety aside, it’s worth keeping the sensors clean and working for your own peace.

Depending on the sensitivity level set for the sensor, it might make more false positives than others whose sensitivity is set to a lower level by default.

In my case it only happens in a very light snow which I find strange. Yes, the sensor are not covered by snow. This is why I posted the question in the first place. It happened to me twice and I have noticed that it’s occurring in a specific weather. I tend to keep my car fairly clean and I can tell you during these circumstances the car and sensors were clean of snow.
