the "turbo fund" needs to get a looooootttttt bigger

Do you need your car to be any faster than Mike2ks4's??
I think you can do that for at least 1/2 of the GT kit. Not really sure though. HBrew HDepot maf housing, generic pump, cheaper adj. FPR, draintake, and maybe a OCK for the track and a bipipe if you're so inclined. Oh yeah, used ICs too. If you're super cheap, you could mod the stock intake pipes. The spendy part are the RS6's and ASP's code(not sure what that is). Still, I think you could do the RS6 route much cheaper....not as sexy, but a lot less expensive.
Not that I've thought about this route or anything ;-)

To me, that price is just too high...
I know some will disagree, and there is an argument to be made comparing that price to a comparable kit from other tuners... but hell, there's no way I am going to spend $13,000 (plus another $3,000 or more for installation) on a car that isn't worth much more than that anymore. Just doesn't make sense to me, but hey, that's just IMHO.
Another thing to consider. I have K04's, inlets, injectors, and other parts laying around for my Stage 3+ project (to begin later this Spring), I think I've spent around $4k on everything, and might spend another $2k before I'm done. Sure, the ASP turbo kit is faster... but I've been in some quick Stage 3+ cars and doubt it would be worth the extra $7,000 - $9,000 to me. Again, to each his own.
All that said, the ASP kit definitely seems high quality and ASP in general seems to be one of the best tuners out there for our cars (definitely the best in my area). If money was no an issue, this is the kit I would choose.

I look at that kit as more of a stepping stone to an entirely new world of performance than anything
else.
with the hardware in that kit, you arent limited to GT25R turbos - you'll be able to run any T25 flanged garrett offering

I don't think it does, but if it did it would certainly be...
(1) the best deal for a turbo kit out there, and (2) still too expensive, IMHO (to be fair, I should point out that I think all of the kits out are severely over-priced).

while i agree that its a ton of money...
consider how large the market is for high power S4 turbo kits. then factor in all the R&D time. how many kits at $12k do they need to sell to break even? how many to turn a profit?
personally, i think a lot of the tuning shops go under because they are too focused on modding cars (which has a low margin) and they don't give basic maintance enough attention (where they could actually make a decent living)
