Default "What is wrong with your Audi?" "I have heard that they are really unrealiable."

Quote from a realtor! She went in the garage and saw the Audi with its hood up. Something I do after every drive and decided to share her thoughts on the Audi.

I told her it was the previous home owner's car that he couldn't get it to run so he left it behind and that I will leave it for the buyer.

You put the hood up after every drive? Why?

Default Doing that allows the ridiculous amount of underhood heat to escape more easily, thereby not drying

out all the rubber hoses & various plastic pieces.

Default i open mine to service position when i get home. It's time consuming but

increases the life of the motor mounts threefold. I also hear you can go 200k on a timing belt by doing this.

I do the same thing. For me it accmplished two things. a) lets the heat out. B) keeps the cat off.

Default I do it, and I think it helps. 8 years on orig. coolant tank, all my hoses and wires are supple...

I either open it completely, or at least just pop it (unlatch it) so that at least I get a LITTLE more ventilation.

I've always wanted to engineer a hood hinge system that lifts the back of the hood a couple inches to allow ventilation. I think it's a damn smart idea, especially for high hp/turbo cars nowadays. I'm thinking specifically of the biggest engines by benz, bentley, rolls royce, etc.

You read it here first! Don't take my idea!
