Default No.. you used to be able to buy them for less than that new..
You probably still can get them new for $1000 maybe even less..

I sold a set of V3s a couple of months ago for $1k. So the answer is no.

Default I bought mine for $1000 new..
Granted it was from the racestore which is no longer in business, but it's not a rumor.

Default yeah, and most people who ordered through them didn't get the part
before the folded up shop.

iirc, HPA (the NA distributor) had to step in to fulfill orders, but wouldn't honor the RaceStore pricing (still gave a discount over retail though).

Default i'm sure it didn't hurt them either way. i got a set of the variant 2
from the racestore.

it was drop shipped from Germany, but name on the form was Darren Prichard, HPA Motorsports.

people were thinking they were circumventing HPA, but it looks like the orders went through HPA regardless of the lowball pricing.
