Default Do you have any idea what I am planning on doing?

Obviously not, hence the butt hurt post due to the offense of your delicate sensibilities.

Maybe you should get know me, my goals and plans before you just blindly cast judgment without knowing my intentions.

Default I appreciate your candor...

I do not doubt for one minute that there is a vast pool of intelligence, great ideas and proven doctrine here.

Having said that, my plan has already has already been divulged by ScratchRob and reaffirmed by me in my replies to ScratchRob and Dzzeiks. I don't see the point to go on and on about stage 3 when that is completely the wrong direction of where I am trying to go, it could be stage eleventeen and it would still be a waste of money for "ME".

Now if I was deficient in making that known, hey my bad but what the hell is the deal with people trying to flame me?

I'll have both the B5 and the B6 S4, either way I will be covered.

Default Agreed. It's insane that one of the most moldable Audi sedans

is so close in price to a platform that simply lacked the same appeal. There are '68/69 Camaros, and then there are 1984 Camaros.

Go price them.

You are trying to buy a car that represents the automotive fascination of many enthusiasts. There were few vehicles anywhere near the same price range with the S4's unique style, luxury and performance.

I'm really not sorry at all that you are having a difficult time finding a "beater" or "toy" car for chump change.

Good luck, though. I'm sure whatever you end up doing will get you your 15 minutes of fame in this community.

Default KBB is about useless.

The car lot game is the only game that uses KBB as a rulebook. It uses that rulebook to it's advantage, and charges well over book on a whim. KBB values also do not jive at all with a vehicle that is sought after by enthusiast and collectors.

This isn't a 1992 Ford Bronco.

I will say that maintenance and parts costs appear to be climbing steeply for the B5 S4, so you may get your wish from a purchasing standpoint. RS4 bumpers ar an example of a part that used to be cheap, and it's gone skyward.

Default Wow, you guys are gonna hate me...

I can see the writing on the wall already.

C'est la vie

I love how some of you guys are making blanket assumptions about me, what I am willing to pay and what I consider chump change.

I consider anything around 15-18k chump change, but I am not looking for staged mods. I don't know how many times I have to say that. I may be loose with my paycheck but I am not going to throw money away needlessly. The first thing I am going to do when I find a suitable S4 is rip the motor out of it and not look back. That is why I don't want a car for the mods or with them.
