Default *Repost* - Audi S4 owners poll (take it if you haven't already!) plus a few comments..

First of all here is the link if you havent taken the survey yet: <A href="http://apps3.vantagenet.com/zsv/survey.asp?id=141716251"><b>Take the Audi S4 Owners Poll!!</b></a>

If you just want to see the results follow this link: <a href="http://apps3.vantagenet.com/zsv/survey.asp?finish=Finish&final=1&id=141716251"><b> Audi S4 Owners Poll RESULTS</b></a>

<b>Here are a few comments:</b>
~ Im really sorry about having to combine Cactus Green and Pearl White (I had to combine two colors because the software only allows for 8 max answers and since there are 9 colors... well you get the idea)

~ I was actually surprised at some of the results. Namely, the color question was interesting. For example there were way more black s4s than I thought there would be and Laser Red and Imola had a lot less than I expected.

Also.. the fact that this is the first Audi for the majority of the owners. (AoA should be happy -> this car was meant to attract first time Audi owners!)

~ I think it was great to get a better idea of actually how many people have had TBB and RE040 problems... Numbers were about what I expected.

~ What do you guys think, any surprises or comments?

Again, If I could have asked more questions, I would have and the 8 answer limit was a pain... the freepolls.com software is pretty limited but I did the best I could. Maybe if I get bored one of these days I will write up an app and give it to audiworld (using SQL and ASP - it would be pretty easy to make a good one)<p><a Href="mailto:josh@s4.toasthost.com">Josh Decker</a>

Default Great survey...

I enjoyed seeing the results.

I am a first time Audi owner (unless you count 7 months with a 99 A6). The A6 was "dipping my toes in the water", it was never going to be a 'keeper', whereas the S4 IS.

Speaking as a first time Audi owner, I'm very disappointed with the lack of parts availability and, with the exception of two individuals, I'm horribly disappointed in factory Audi dealer service personnel as I chase 'warranty' issues.<p>David Bishop

Default Josh...problem w/ Q5 and Q6

These are multiple response questions and are being calculated wrong. There isn't a total sample size listed, but right now it appears to be n=~160. The program for these questions is dividing by the total number of responses and affecting the numbers (almost 3-4 times the total n size). As it reads now, it looks as like approximately 1 in 4 S4's are coming w/ the Convenience pkg. We know this clearly isn't the case given the rarity of Sunroof free S4's (silly people)

This problem similarly affects the aftermarket question too. These both just need to be rebased to the total n. Easy fix, presumably, not familiar w/ Freepolis software...

I'm mkt. research. Trying to keep it honest.

Default Too be a little more precise...

Instead of dividing by the total n size, it should be dividing by the number of respondents who answered that question. This will adjust for the people who refuse or don't know.

Default Nicely done. One issue. . .

It would be nice to display the modification results with the total number of respondents to the survey as the denominator. Since you didn't have a "none" option under the modification question, when the results show that 20% of the people who answered this question had a chip, it's 20% of those who did mods, not 20% of those who answered the survey.

Just a thought.

Default You are right.... Its a software quirk

I addressed this problem in my original post a few days back... Basically it is calculating the % based on total questions answered not total number of people. I am surprised at how quirky this software is. I'll have to send an email to freepolls and let them know that they have a few 'imprivements' needed!

thanks for your feedback!<p><a Href="mailto:josh@s4.toasthost.com">Josh Decker</a>

Default That won't work unless (more)

That still won't work correctly, because people who bought a car with no options (very rare, I know) wouldn't be counted. Put in a checkbox for "no options" and then your suggestion will work.

Default Missed that point earlier

Sorry to belabor a point already made. If they don't fix it, you could try and make do by making groupings (mutually exclusive categories) of what are expected to be the most popular choices. For example: all options, everything but nav, everything but nav and phone, ..., no options, none of the above. Might work in this Q, but Q6 would be a little more difficult to capture the majority of possibilities.

It is surprising though that the software captures/accepts multiple responses, yet doesn't calculate that correctly. Perhaps they'll fix that soon, given your request.

leslie ... back to doing some telco research...

Default I was speaking to the bases. Yes, all possibilities need to be covered if possible...

however, Josh mentions that there are restrictions to the number of choices he can put in. See my post, above...

okay, enough on this thread.
