2000 S4 ECU# .......a & .........b interchangable?

I have a 2000 s4 tiptronic (8D0 907 551 B)and wanted to buy an ECU from a friend who had a 2000 6spd, (8D0 907 551 A) can these be interchangable by using the vag-com software, It worked for my a4

Nope. S4 Tip and manual ECUs aren't interchangeable. Can't just be recoded like some of the A4s.
