Advice needed: 98 A4 Avant 60K miles, 19K?

If it isn't running right though...I'd get a ppi done by an Audi mechanic you trust (you should do that even if it were running perfectly). Carfax is a good idea, but remember that it doesn't give you *all* of the history. Titles can be washed when cars go across state lines, and not all accidents appear on the title record.

Yep, N.J car bought at an auction.
And yep, information can be concealed, the car looks perfect inside and outside, only 2 very minor dings on a side door and the stuck vent and segments missing from the display,
otherwise it looks perfect.
I was only able to find 1 small scratch on one wheel, nothing else, very clean car.
Owner of shop showed to us a report on the VIN, no accidents, floods, etc. seemingly one owner.
If this were to be a 'good' car, how 'good' have the 98 Avants been?
