ahh crap.... Headlight washers dead
This evening i went to wash my winshield and failed to notice the 2nd pump kicking in... shure enough, when i got home I had my brother watch and they did not even activate... any info on how the system works and a possible fault?
does water pressure cause the nozzles to rize? because nothing at all happens (leads me to believe that the headlight sensor or the switch is dead)
oh well time to see the Dlr

they only work when the car is moving, did you check it while driving?

My friend's '99 A4 would activate the washers when parked with lights
And you have to activate the washer at least 2 seconds, maybe more.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=5325">

They are on a separate pump...the pump might be dead (more)
I posted a message asking if anyone knew how to disable the washer system going to the headlights..and they said disconnet the second pump going to the washer system in the bumper..so I would probably start there...

They operate whenever headlights on and washer lever pressed.
They only "work" (as headlight washers) when the car is moving, the ram air is needed to properly direct the spray, and "wipe" them off.
