alright, thoughts on this Intake Mani and t-body stuff please?
I talked to an APR distributor out in LA. They have been running test software on a k04 car with Matt (smokins4's) setup. K04 kit with the extra intake mani and t-body and such. Now I asked them about their thoughts vs the normal k04 setup. THey said that car felt a little slower 0-30 or 0-40 as there was more plumbing but after that the car pulled insanely hard. The question I have is. Does this scenario make sence? Is it possible the car would be slower on the low end? If so how much faster can we expect on the high end. If I was to run a 1/4 mile run, would that extra hi-end increase my run or would i not gain much since i was losing a little speed?
I also would have thought T-body and such would be effective based on rpms not on wheel speed so is it possible they are having traction issues as well? What do you all think about this? I see IC's and this intake mani as my last wish list mods. IS it worth it?

Look at what Audi did for the RS4. They moodified head, intake and exhaust gas outlets - and I think we all start to understand why. The key is not only to have power, but to have power (ie torque) without a lag. And that was what the RS4 is all about. Soo, to make it short: I assume a different head, intake manifold and better exhaust gas routing does make a difference.

My thoughts...
anytime you increase volume/size of ports you have the ability to lessen both port velocity and low end torque but you can "possibly" gain power on the top end! when trying to make a fast car you have to basically lessen your weaknesses while enhancing your strengths all the while keeping a balance of components! from day one the S4's strength has always been its flat torque curve, torque(especially on the low end) is definitely NOT the strength of the RS4. by using and in some cases mismatching(the S4 and RS4 intake ports on the head are different)parts you can cause a big flow imbalance! If you want to sacrifice your bottom end for high rpm flow go ahead but anyone that knows how to actually "DRIVE" this car for optimum performance isnt shifting at redline anyway! food for though my turbos can flow approx 200-250 cfm more air than the KO4's and I dont have a flow restriction with a cleaned up S4 intake manifold and throttle body!
