You can barely see it on black, and on silver I doubt you would be able to see it at all.

And yes you're right. Given the absolute correct angle in the light, you can see a little bit of texture. I have a full front nose cover. It's a little easier to see the line for those that have just the front 12" covered.

I have the whole hood, side fenders and bumper covered, so there really isn't any line so to speak.
