APR CHIP - Race Program?
#2
Huge difference
I have driven a car with the APR race program and 105 octane and it feels MUCH faster than the regular APR chipped program.
You can wind 3rd and 4th all the to redline without any loss of high-end power. 3rd is definitely the money gear in race mode.
All gears feel faster and SMOOTHER... there is no "hiccup" around 4K as the cam timing changes over like there is with the regular chipped mode.

The problem with race programs is................
that you get addicted to them. I am So then you find yourself trying to find different ways to make up the power. If you APRs software then I would suggest trying out their race program with 100 octane gas. People see a difference in their 1/4 times etc. Try to find someone in your area with one so you don't have to plunk down the $$$ before driving it.

It makes a big difference in lap times at the track!
At Gingerman Raceway (1.88 mile track) I saw a chipped S4 run consistently at 1:37 - 1:39 on regular chipped mode and 93 octane. In race mode with 100 octane the same car turned consistent 1:33s. For reference a showroom stock S4 runs the track at about 1:50, maybe 1:48.
As another reference point, regular chipped mode was not enough to keep up with an E46 M3 around the track. Race mode enabled the S4 to easily pass the M3.

Gingerman Raceway track map
